These dogs have definitely always been of my total admiration not only for being considered the most intelligent breed in the world, but also for their wide color palette applied to their coats. They are long-haired dogs and are called double-coated. Their care is special and we are going to comment on that below. The double coats of these beautiful dogs are composed of a dense inner layer of woolly hair and another layer of outer hair called "cover hair". The inner layer also called "undercoat" has, among other functions, to protect dogs from the cold. If you own one of these Croquettes, you will have noticed the large amount of hair that it leaves wherever it goes. I tell you that it is an undercoat and it begins to come off abruptly, however, the covering hair will do so more progressively so that the skin never stops being protected. The covering hair fulfills an important protective function with the skin avoiding external aggressions: sun, rain, dirt, chafing, bites, etc... To enjoy our dog's beautiful coat and its attractive colors, it is advisable to follow a proper bathing and brushing routine. A good bath every fifteen or twenty days, applying suitable cosmetics, is essential to enjoy a healthy, dense and voluminous coat, shiny and with the desired chromatic intensity.
If hair and skin do not receive adequate nutrition, the dog will suffer the effects of continuous shedding, an annoying situation both for him and for his human companions. The hair would begin to lack shine and the dog would begin to look dull. For this reason, proper and frequent brushing prevents the accumulation of dead hair, facilitates regeneration, and avoids the risk of skin problems. It may be enough to do it once a week, yes, dedicating the time necessary to not leave any area without brushing. GROOMING At Croquetos Spa for Dogs, we start with a bath with deep cleansing shampoo, in this way we will eliminate all impurity and dirt from the coat. Then, if the client wishes, we can apply a nourishing shampoo or a mask to choose from, suitable for the animal's fur. After rinsing off the second shampoo it is important to apply a nourishing conditioner. This product will provide the hair and skin with the necessary nutrients for complete care, as well as offering a beautiful and long-lasting result. DRYING In our Spa, we dry the hair by applying a low temperature to avoid dehydrating the outer layer. We have a powerful dryer that surprisingly helps us to reduce the drying time, without damaging the animal's fur. THE DETAILS To conclude the grooming of our Croqueto, we improve the image by trimming a little hair in some areas. for example we outline their ears, feet, tail and chest. The objective will be that it does not lose the aspect of the breed indicated by the standard and at the same time highlight the virtues of the specimen. Now, it is very important that if you do not have the time to dedicate to taking care of your dog, you put it in the hands of professionals, maximum every 45 days, to help your best friend stay healthy in all aspects.
